Who We Are

Mavex Films is an international film development and production company established by writer-director brothers Joseph and Frank Ciota in 1993.

With offices in Boston and Rome, the purpose of the company is to develop and produce award-winning independent films in Italy and the United States for a global audience. Thematically, we develop character-driven stories which focus on cross-cultural themes and which are positive in nature. Our films combine the physical beauty of international locations, dramatically emotional content, strong musical elements and the rich textures of classic European cinema combined with American commercial sensibilities.

With extensive production relationships and as dual citizens of Italy and the United States we are capable of producing films with far greater production value than expected based on cost-effective and responsible budgets while giving each project the personal attention and creative energy it requires to reach its full artistic and commercial potential.

In a world of soda pop and light beer, our intention is to make films that are the equivalent of a fine wine...tasteful, rich and timeless.
