The North End

Set in Boston's "Little Italy" and made for under $100,000. The Ciota brothers' critically acclaimed debut film premiered at the Montreal Film Festival and was the opening night film of the 1997 Boston Film Festival.

After traveling the festival circuit, the film was released theatrically through National Amusements where it played to sold out audiences in Boston and Providence prompting National Amusements' Shari Redstone to call it "the most successful independent film we have supported".

Ciao America

Shot entirely on location across Italy and starring Paul Sorvino ("Goodfellas"), Giancarlo Giannini ("Swept Away") and Violante Placido ("The American"), "Ciao America" is the Ciota brothers' first international feature film.

Teaming with EMC Co-Founder and producer Roger Marino, the film is based loosely on Joseph's experiences coaching American Football in Italy and features an original score by Andrea Morricone performed by the Rome Symphony Orchestra.

"Ciao America" opened on a limited theatrical release where it received rave reviews including a 3½ star review from the Boston Herald's Jim Verniere.

Stiffs

Following their success overseas, The Ciota Brothers returned to Boston to write and direct the comedy "Stiffs" starring Oscar nominated actor Danny Aiello ("Do The Right Thing"), John Polito ("Miller's Crossing") and Leslie Anne Warren ("Victor Victoria"). The film follows the trials and tribulations of a once illustrious "man about town" now working at a struggling neighborhood funeral home.

Cassino in Ischia
